What is the most effective method for a generalist practitioner in primary care to detect depression in an older people (over 65s) with long term conditions/chronic disease?
We have been unable to locate information on the most effective method to detect depression specific to elderly patients with long-term conditions or chronic illness.  We did find reviews/studies of effective methods to detect depression for patients with long-term/chronic disease in primary care and reviews/studies of depression scales for elderly patients in primary care.
